“Aster Textile“, Turkey’s leading textile manufacturer, has invested 9 million euros in the construction of a factory in the Serbian city of Niš, which covers an area of 19,250 square metres and is equipped with cutting-edge machines. The factory currently employs 300 workers and plans to employ 2,000 young people in the next two years.

The commissioning ceremony was held on October 19, 2016. Concept design, production and public relations for the event were entrusted to M2Communications.

The factory was officially commissioned by Chairman of the Board of Aster Textile Group Ismail Koçali, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay and Mayor of Niš Darko Bulatović.

The factory was commissioned by a symbolic act of pushing a lever, followed by an animation showcasing “Aster Textile“, its arrival to Niš and its manufacturing plant.

“Aster Textile“was established in Turkey in 1993 as a company specializing in fashion design and manufacture. Its Business Development Centres are located in Istanbul, London and Barcelona, while its production facilities are located in Turkey, Bangladesh and Serbia as of recently. “Aster Textile“ manufactures textile products for some of the world’s leading brands, such as Marks & Spencer, Zara, Mango, H&M, Sandro, Maje, S’Oliver, Esprit, Tesco, Vero Moda, etc. The company launched its own luxury fashion brand, WtR, in 2014.

With monthly output of 2.5 million pieces, the company was ranked among Turkey’s top eight textile exporters in 2015 thanks to its turnover of more than EUR 100 million.
